Garv se kaho hum Hindu Hain

ShivSena chief Shri Balasaheb Thackeray gave this slogan when it was difficult to say Hindu in India.

ShivSena was founded by Shri Balasaheb Thackeray on June 19, 1966. ShivSena was formed to fight against the injustice and to safeguard the marathi people in mumbai from oppression.

Marathi in Maharashtra and Hindu in the country was the arrow of respected Balasaheb.

ShivSena first came to power in Mumbai Municipal Corporation in 1985. The ShivSena formed an alliance with the BJP in 1989 under the leadership of Balasaheb Thackeray, Pramod Mahajan and Gopinath Munde. And in 1995 the ShivSena-BJP coalition government came into existence in Maharashtra. Shiv Sena's Manohar Joshi became the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Also, Shiv Sena's Manohar Joshi was the Speaker of the Lok Sabha in Atal Bihari Vajpayee's government that came into being at the Center in 1999.

As long as respected Balasaheb was alive, ShivSena was known as a staunch Hindutva party. Shiv Sena's Hinduism was a Hinduism that embraced all castes-religion-sects-languages who considered India as their motherland.

The Shiv Sena-BJP alliance broke up in 2014 elections but after the elections the ShivSena-BJP alliance came into force again and they formed the government in Maharashtra.

About

Both parties contested the 2019 elections together; But after the election results, Uddhav Thackeray instead of forming a government with the BJP , pressing on the issue of Chief Ministership, formed an alliance with the Nationalist Congress and the Congress, which are and have been the ideological opponents of the ShivSena

Together they formed the Maha Vikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra.

Even at that time, many shivsainiks were not convinced to form a government on the lap of those with whom they fought an ideological battle all their life;

But the ShivSena is an order-driven party. Therefore, MLAs and ShivSainiks supported Uddhav Thackeray by accepting the party mandate.

Over the period, The Shiv Sainiks did not agree with this. Dissatisfaction was bubbling in their hearts.

This dissatisfaction was finally broken by the then group leader of ShivSena in the Legislative Assembly and the current Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

In June 2022, under the leadership of Eknath Shinde, as many as 50 MLAs staged an uprising. The uprising resulted in the formation of the ShivSena-BJP coalition government and the new government was sworn in on 30 June 2022 under the leadership of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
